TORCA Write to us

Torcalianov

TORCA is the services arm.

Built, not assembled.

AI software for European companies.
Runs in your own cloud account, or on your servers.

Situations

Five you may recognise. Not case studies.

What this usually looks like.

Most of this work has the same shape. Documents and email arrive from outside, and a person turns them into data by hand, every day.

Freight forwarder
Three hundred emails a day with attachments, and someone retypes them into the system.
Law firm
Twenty years of documents, and no way to find the clause you know you wrote in 2019.
Clinic
A doctor records a letter today. A secretary types it out tomorrow morning.
Distributor
A product catalogue that is out of date the day it is exported.
Accountant
The same four screens opened to process one invoice, four hundred times a month.

If one of these is your week, the diagnostic is the place to start.

The problem

Why the first attempt stalls.

The pilot reached 70 percent and stopped.

Many companies have one. A demo that worked in the meeting. A workflow that runs on Tuesday and breaks on Thursday. A pilot that answered most questions and was never allowed near a customer.

The last 30 percent is not a better prompt. It is the part that makes software safe to depend on.

  1. Error handling. What happens when the input is wrong.
  2. Permissions. Who may run it, and on whose data.
  3. Logging. A record of what it did, and why.
  4. Tests. Proof it still works after a change.
  5. Handover. Someone who can fix it without the person who wrote it.

If you have a stalled pilot, we would rather finish it than replace it.

What we install

Not a rollout. Nothing on anyone's desktop.

One service, next to the things you already run.

Where
A server you already have, or the cloud account you already pay for. Your Azure, your AWS, your Hetzner.
What
One service in a container, and an ordinary database next to it.
The model
Either an open model on a machine you own, so nothing leaves the building. Or a model hosted in the EU, so nothing leaves the EU. Cheaper, and no hardware.
On desktops
Nothing. People forward an email, or the data appears in the system they already open every morning.
Afterwards
It is yours. If you would rather we stayed on call, that is agreed separately.

Offers

Prices are public on purpose. Excluding VAT.

Two offers, priced.

The diagnostic comes first. Delivery follows only where the diagnostic says it should. Three founding places at a reduced rate, while they last.

Diagnostic

Two days. Remote or on site.

€3,000

Deliverable
A written, priced specification.
Vendor
Any. The document is yours. You can take it to someone else.
Guarantee
If the diagnostic finds nothing worth doing, the fee is returned.

The report names which processes are worth automating. And which are not. Most vendors say yes to everything. A no on paper is what the two days are for.

Delivery

Billed per day worked. Handover included.

€950/ day

Scope
Set by the diagnostic. Written down before work starts.
Code
Yours. In your repository from the first day, not ours.
Runbook
Written. How to run it, how to stop it, what to check when it fails.
Components
Off-the-shelf only. Any developer can read the stack and continue.
Dependence
None on us. Nothing runs on our machines or our accounts.

Founding clients

A reduced rate, for a reason, with an end.

3places

Rate
€750 per day instead of €950. The diagnostic price is unchanged.
In return
A named reference, and permission to describe the work on this page.
Open
3 of 3.
Ends
When the third project is signed.

Torcalianov

The parent company. Two owners.

The AI practice is new. The company is not.

We have built and supported the software of one client, Hunt Recruitment, since 2017. It still runs, and they still call us. That is the whole client list. We would rather show it to you than pad a page with logos. The two of us have worked together for close to twenty years.

The AI work is new, so there is no AI client to point at yet. There is our own software instead. Bloompath is a multi-tenant application we designed and built this year. It is not an AI product, and that is the point: AI work stalls on the software around it, not on the model.

Bloompath

Multi-tenant SaaS. Built this year. Working, and only now going out.

Built by
The two of us. No agency, no outsourcing.
Method
AI used pragmatically. The architecture, the security model and the stack are our decisions. Much of the code was written by agents we build and direct, under review.
See it

The name

Twelve years, five letters.

2014
We wanted Torcalia. It was taken.
2014
We added nov. Torcalianov.
2026
TORCA returns to the root.
a toarce
Romanian. To spin thread. Also what a cat does when it purrs.
torquere
Latin. To twist. The same root as torque.

Refusals

What we will not build.

  1. A customer-facing bot with nobody behind it.
  2. Anything that scores or ranks people. Hiring, credit, dismissal.
  3. Anything that moves your data outside the EU.
  4. A pilot with no owner on your side.
  5. Anything we cannot hand over in writing.

A no at the start costs two days. A no at 70 percent costs the project.
